Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Monday 8/15/22 at Walthall Baptist Church in Walthall, MS, with burial in Eupora City Cemetery in Eupora, MS. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Walthall Baptist Church instead of Eupora City Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:30PM until 2:00PM Monday 8/15/22 at Walthall Baptist Church. Mrs. Vera Joyce Tabb Bright James, 76, passed away 8/12/22 at North MS Medical Center in Eupora, MS. Funeral Servies were held 2:00PM Monday 8/15/22 at Walthall Baptist Church in Walthall MS with burial in the Eupora City Cemetery in Eupora, MS. Rev. Hugh Bland, Rev. William Weddle and Rev. Mike Ramage officiated. Pallbearers were; Daniel and Jacob Dye, Walker and Woods Mitchell, Brooks, Mason and Tabb Powell, Brady, Coley, Collins, Drew, Gibson and Grant Tabb. She was born on 5/31/46 to Lon Tabb and Eva Nell Scott Tabb of Walthall MS. Mrs. James was a member of Walthall Baptist Church in Walthall, MS. where she faithfully served as the Church pianist for over 40 years. She graduated from Delta State University with a degree in education and began teaching in 1968. She retired from education after teaching for 31 years. Joyce also directed countless weddings over a span of almost 50 years After her retirement from education, she served as Village of Walthall Clerk as well as Webster County District Two Election Commissioner. She enjoyed quilting, arranging flowers cooking for her family and having them near her as often as possible. Mrs. James was preceded in death by her parents; Lon and Eva Nell Tabb, brothers; Billy Dan Tabb and Don Tabb, husbands; William E. Bright and John V. James and step-daughter; Betty Bright Presley. She is survived by her sister; Judy (Pete) Powell and her brother; Randy (Karen) Tabb both of Walthall, MS, and her sister-in-law Myrtis Tabb of Cleveland, MS, step-daughter; Mavis Bright Morton of Atoka, TN and step-sons; Carl Bright of Memphis, TN and Jay James of Long Island NY, family members; Greg, Teresa and Allie Whitaker of Eupora, MS, nieces; Tracy (Randy) Tabb Dye of Argyle, TX and Rana Tabb Mitchell of Eupora, MS, nephews; Jeffrey (Dawn) Tabb and Chip (Toni Carole) Powell of Eupora, MS, Bill Ryan (Leslie) Tabb of Cleveland, MS, Payton Tabb (Kelly) Powell and William Woods (Cala) Tabb of Eupora, MS.
