An Immediate Family and Close Friends Funeral/Graveside Service for Sterling Pryor Doolittle will be held 10:00AM Wednesday 7/22/20 at Bethel Cemetery in Calhoun County, MS. The family respectfully requests participants to wear masks, practice social distancing and keep close contact to a minimum. Cadaretta, MS Sterling Pryor Doolittle, 79, peacefully passed into the presence of the Lord at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS on July 19, 2020. A Funeral/Graveside Service will be held Wednesday July 22, 2020 at 10:00AM in Bethel Cemetery in Calhoun County MS with Rev. Willy Weddle and Rev. Johnny Hale sharing words of comfort and praise. Sterling was born April 4, 1941. He became a born again Christian at an early age and proclaimed his great love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a member of Sabougla Baptist Church in Calhoun County. Sterling loved his family beyond measure and knew without a doubt their love for him. As an avid coon hunter, Sterling had many friends who shared his enthusiasm of the hunt. Taking care of his animals gave him much happiness. His love of trail riding brought him great joy and fellowship with friends. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Sterling began farming as a young man following the footsteps of generations before and was happiest outdoors enjoying God's wonderful creations. Sterling is survived by his wife of 58 years; Lady Hughes "Tootsie" Doolittle, his daughter; Judy Carroll "Sister" Turner and husband Tracy Harold Turner, his granddaughter; Anna Grace Harmon and husband Hunter Harmon. He was preceded in death by his parents; Woods Sterling and Una Pryor Doolittle, a brother; James Russell Doolittle, paternal grandparents; Russell Cannon and Lula Woods Doolittle, and maternal grandparents; J.Z. and Jewel Fox Pryor. Carrying Sterling to his final resting place will be; Landon Worthy, Tim Tindall, Gregg Lovorn, Paul Black, Gary Hemphill and Robert Doolittle.
