Funeral Services will be held 12:00 (Noon), Tuesday 4/4/23 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Embry Cemetery in Webster County, MS. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Embry Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:30 AM until 12:00 (Noon) Tuesday 4/4/23 at Oliver Funeral Home. Mrs. Ruby Fay Watson Betterton, 88, retired Food Service Cafeteria Worker, died 4/1/23 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS. Funeral Services were held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday 4/4/23 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Embry Cemetery in Webster County, MS. Bro. Kenny Gardner officiated. She was a member of Eupora First Baptist Church. Mrs. Ruby is survived by her husband; Jesse Walter Betterton, Columbus, MS, daughter; Cathy (Ronnie) Miller, Caledonia, MS and son; David Betterton, Columbus, MS, sister; Christine Watson Lucius, Walthall, MS, four grandchildren; Angela (Dan) Laird, Jessica (Taylor) Purtell, Jenna Leigh (Joe) Hawkins, and Justin Betterton, nine great grandchildren; Jordan (Sara) Laird, Hunter Laird, C.J. Laird, Jesse Laird, Layla Purtell, Miller Purtell, Noah Purtell, Legion Hawkins and Silas Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her parents; Ellis and Ora Watson, four sisters; Bernice Watson Rector, Thelma "Pete" Watson Shelton, Grace Watson Hood and Sue Watson Grice, grandson; Joshua Graham Betterton and great grandson; Jase Declan Laird. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with them. She was an avid reader and working crossword puzzles was one of her favorite pastimes. She also enjoyed quilting and was very fond of gospel music and like going to singings. Everyone who knew her enjoyed being around her because she had a great sense of humor. In addition to her family she was very fond of her two little dogs who were almost constant companions to her before her death
