Rickey Dale Sturdivant

Rickey Dale Sturdivant age 73, of Eupora, MS, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North in Oxford, MS, on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Rickey was born in Maben, MS on September 14, 1951, to Hugh Allen Sturdivant and Bonnie Bernice Ellison Sturdivant. He was a retired truck driver and former EMT. Rickey is survived by his wife, Brenda Marie Price Sturdivant, Eupora, MS; one daughter, Emily Sturdivant (Lorne) Shive, Jonesboro, AR; one son, Daniel (Holly Stephens) Sturdivant, Olive Branch, MS; two step-children, Cortney (Jake Easton) Allen, Drummonds, TN and Johnny (Ann Millner) Allen, Bridgetown, MS; one brother, Jimmy Allen Sturdivant, Mathiston, MS; two sisters, Janice (Aaron) Walker, Mathiston, MS and Brenda Swindle, Mathiston, MS; fourteen grandchildren; his dog, Sadie Mae and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Allen Sturdivant and Bonnie Bernice Ellison Sturdivant and two sisters, Carolyn Pritchard and Connie Johnson. Funeral Services for Rickey will be held at 4:00PM on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, MS. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of visitation on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 2:00PM until time for services at 4:00PM. Following the services Rickey's wishes will be honored to cremate his body and will be buried in the family plot at Clarkson Cemetery at a later date. Rev. Melvin Mordecai will deliver words of comfort and praise at the services. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is honored to be entrusted with all arrangements for the Sturdivant family.
