Richard "Ricky" Duke Palmer

Richard "Ricky" Duke Palmer age 66 of Eupora, MS, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, MS. Ricky was born on November 4, 1958, to Jesse F. Palmer and Jimmie Estes Palmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Mathiston, MS and despite his mental condition which prevented him from sharing his feelings and thoughts with his family and others, he understood who Jesus was. Ricky loved Jesus and enjoyed listening to his mother read him Bible stories. Ricky is survived by one sister, Brenda Palmer (Steve) Ulmer; one niece, Angela Ulmer (Michael) DelVecchio; two nephews, Brad (Allison) Ulmer and Jesse Ulmer; two great nephews, Austin Ulmer and Caleb DelVecchio and three great nieces, Paisley Ulmer, Leilani Ulmer and Madison DelVecchio. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse F. Palmer and Jimmie Estes Palmer. Funeral Services for Richard "Ricky" Duke Palmer will be held at 2:00PM Friday, April 11, 2025, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, MS. The family will receive friends and family for a time of visitation on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 1:00PM until time services at 2:00PM at Oliver Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Clarkson Cemetery in Webster County, MS. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Clarkson Cemetery. Rev. Doran Henry will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Freddy Perkins, Brian Perkins, Ross Harrison, Wallace Hillhouse, Tom Jack Williams and Joe Thompson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorials be made to Baptist Children's Village, P.O. Box 27, Clinton, MS 39060.
