Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM Thursday 9/15/22 at Eupora First Baptist Church in Eupora, MS with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery in Webster County, MS. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Eupora First Baptist Church instead of Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00PM until 7:00PM Wednesday 9/14/22 at Oliver Funeral Home and 10:00AM until 11:00AM Thursday 9/15/22 at Eupora First Baptist Church. Rev. James Doyle Cummings, 91, passed into glory on Monday September 12, 2022 at North MS Medical Center Long Term Care unit in Eupora, MS. Funeral Services were held 11:00AM Thursday 9/15/22 at Eupora First Baptist Church with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery in Webster County. Rev. Hugh Bland, Rev. Travis Gray and Rev. Caleb Cummings officiated. Pallbearers were; George "Bubba" Bland, Dave Matusiak, Robert Youngblood, Bill Sanderson, Mike Sanderson and Wayne Sanderson. He was born on May 19, 1931, to Jesse Lee and Ida Strickland Cummings in Webster County. He dropped out of school and entered the United States Army, before returning to school and graduating from Cumberland High School. He graduated from Wood Junior College and Mississippi State University, and then received his Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served the following churches as pastor; Fellowship Baptist Church in Mathiston, MS., Philadelphia Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS, Schlater Baptist Church in Schlater, MS, Second Baptist Church in Indianola, MS and Frist Baptist Church in Itta Bena, MS. He also served as associational Missions Director for the Bolivar County Association and served numerous churches as interim pastor during his retirement. Doyle is survived wife of 60 years; Elizabeth Morrow Cummings of Eupora, his two sons; Andy Cummings and his wife Jan and David Cummings and his wife Betty, both of Grenada, MS, his sister; Louise Cummings Brassfield of Eupora, MS. four grandchildren who called him "Grand"--- Cassie Cummings Matusiak and her husband Dave of Grenada, MS, Rev Caleb Andrew Cummings and his wife Meredith of Mt. Juliet, TN, McKenzie Morrow Cummings of Grenada, MS and Matthew David Cummings, of Grenada, MS and one great granddaughter; Hadley Grace Cummings, of Mt. Juliet TN. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Lee and Ida Strickland Cummings, his sister; Sallie Cummings Sanderson and his brother Tommy Cummings
