Renford "Steve" Stephenson

Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM Wednesday 12/8/21 at Providence Baptist Church in Choctaw County with burial in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Stephenson will lie in state in Providence Baptist Church Wednesday 12/8/21, 10:00AM until time of services at 11:00AM. Visitation will be 6:00PM until 8:00PM Tuesday 12/7/21 at Oliver Funeral Home. Renford is survived by his wife; Fronie Bell Hays Hunt Stephenson, Eupora, MS, son; John Allen (Julia Bailey) Stephenson, Eupora, MS, three step-daughters; Angela (Jeff) Bates, Tilton, MS, Rita (Craig) Lloyd, Texarkana, TX, Karen Hunt, Ackerman, MS, three step-sons; Rayburn (Cindy) Hunt, Ackerman, MS, Warren (Cynthia) Hunt, Ackerman, MS, Derek Hunt, Ackerman, MS, three sisters; Julia Stephenson (Grady) Hollis, Starkville, MS, Faye Stephenson (Joe) Ivy, Ackerman, MS, Peggy Stephenson Hodges, Ackerman, MS, brother; Billy Marshall, Ackerman, MS, three grandchildren; Bailey Stephenson, John Douglas Stephenson, and Ethan Stephenson. He was preceded in death by his parents; Eric and Ava Stephenson, his first wife; Sue Putnam and a brother; Malcom Stephenson. Renford was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Choctaw County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing gardening, watching football and westerns. He loved his family and was a friend to many. He took great pride in his work as a diesel mechanic working for T. L. James Corp. across the states of Louisiana and Mississippi for 38 years. He was a strong man and a very hard worker. He was known for, among many things, his storytelling, stubbornness, loyal friendship and generosity.
