Pattie "Fran" Box Mendoza

Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Saturday 11/19/22 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Wood Springs Cemetery in Choctaw County, MS. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Wood Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Noon until 2:00PM Saturday 11/19/22 at Oliver Funeral Home. Mrs. Pattie "Fran" Box Mendoza, 74, homemaker, died 11/16/22 at her residence in Grenada. Funeral Services were held 2:00 PM Saturday 11/19/22 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Wood Springs Cemetery in Choctaw County, MS. Bro. James Caffey officiated the services. Pallbearers were; Clifton and Lee Box, John Singleton, Christian Perez, Chris Marter and Chris Holcomb. She was preceded in death by her parents; Melvin and Thalia Box and two brothers; Anthony and Thurman Box. Fran is survived by her husband; Faustino Mendoza, Grenada, MS, five daughters; Rosalia Rico, Esther Rosas and Elizabeth Fonseca all of Texas, Delia Monsibias and Maria Del Carmen of Mexico, two chosen daughters; Teresa Green, Winona, MS and Autumn Hillhouse, Tilatoba, MS, a son; Steven Cochran, Grenada, MS, a sister; Thalia Neal, Brandon, MS and a brother; Robert Box, Houston, MS and fifteen grandchildren. Fran loved cruising with her sister. Her favorite room was on the back of the cruise ship with a balcony so she could watch the ocean waves, enjoy a glass of wine and watch the beautiful sunsets. She also cherished a special event with her Ackerman High School graduating classmates, including the then U. S. Secretary of State Ray Mabus (also once our MS governor) for the christening of the USNS Choctaw County ship at the Austal USA shipyard in Mobile, AL. Fran also loved making all of the family wreaths for the memorial days at the family cemeteries. Last, but not least, she loved Ole MS football!!!
