The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Blythe Creek Baptist Church instead of the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00PM until 2:00PM Tuesday 8/16/22 at Blythe Creek Baptist Church.Mr. Oscar Loyd Shurden, 94, retired welder with Babcock and Willcox Mfg., passed away 8/14/22 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS. Funeral Services were held 2:00PM Tuesday 8/16/22 at Blythe Creek Baptist Church in Choctaw County. Bro. Todd Chesser officiated. Pallbearers were; John Randall Shurden Jr., Michael Shurden, Joey Fiebig, Kendale Durham, Keith Williams and Caleb Shurden. Honorary Pallbearers were; Howard Shurden, Tim Shurden, Sheryl Shurden, David Braden, Hugh Shurden, Ronald Shurden and Richard Shurden. Mr. Shurden was a member of Blythe Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; Steve and Zelma Shurden, son; Mike Shurden, brothers; Harold, Elbert and Leon Shurden, sisters; Edith Jean Braden, Lorine Morphis, and Mavis Fulgham. Mr. Oscar is survived by his wife; Dorothy Fulgham Shurden, Mathiston, MS, daughter; Sandra (Jimmy Dale) Williams, Mathiston, MS, son; Randy (Melanie) Shurden, Byram, MS, daughter-in-law; Cindy Shurden, Mathiston, MS, eight grandchildren; Keith (Samantha) Williams, Kristi (Kendale) Durham, Brandi (Joey) Fiebig, John Randall (Hope)Shurden, Jr., Michael (Paige) Shurden, Kailen (Jonathan) Reves, Kristopher Austin and Kyle Austin, twelve great grandchildren; Mary Grace Fiebig, Aaron Fiebig, Caleb Shurden, Dylan Shurden, Layla, Mia, Kade, and Rhett Shurden, Kylie Williams, Gwendolen and Lydia Reeves and Levi Durham
