Ruth retired from General Motors after over 34 years of service. She was proud of the work she did. Loved to tell stories of the parts she worked on. It is true she was able to figure out how to fix parts that engineers were baffled by at times. She put in many hours but also loved to take advantage of the employee discounts to get a new car every couple of years. Ruth was most proud of her children. In high school. Luke wanted to learn guitar and so Ruth worked extra hours to make sure she was able to buy him his very first guitar. Terri loved to play sports. Ruth always found time to pick her up from practice and she never missed a game no matter how far away. Ruth always had a tough front for strangers but the people that truly knew her, knew her kind heart. If there was someone or some animal in need, she would do whatever she could to care for them. She took in Strays, dogs, cats, birds, nieces and nephews. When she came back to Mississippi she cared for aunts and cousins in bad health. This was where Ruth showed her love. A large part of her life was spent in Michigan but she couldn't wait to come back home to Walthall. This was her real home
