Funeral Services will be 3:00PM Sunday 2/20/22 at the Eupora First United Methodist Church with burial at the Eupora City Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00PM until 3:00PM Sunday 2/20/22 at the Eupora First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Mary Dell Wasson Hubbard, 92, died 2/16/22 at North MS Medical Center in Eupora, MS. Funeral Services were held 3:00PM Sunday 2/20/22 at Eupora First United Methodist Church with burial in Eupora City Cemetery. Bro. Nathan Phillips, Rev. Warren Wasson and Jason Hubbard officiated. Pallbearers were; Cliff Ballard, Lath Hubbard, Toby Bowen, Brian Bowen, Brad Hubbard, Jared Hubbard, and George Hubbard. Honorary Pallbearers were; Dusty Womack, Jarrod Womack and Aidan Matthews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Resa Elijah and Mary Verna Wasson, her husband; Doff Hubbard, and her daughter in law; Marilyn Hubbard. Mrs. Mary Dell is survived by her daughters; Diane Ray, Eupora, MS and Teresa (Boo) Matthews, Starkville, MS, her sons; Chris (Ruthie) Hubbard, Olive Branch, MS, Ricky (Stephanie) Hubbard, Mantee, MS and James Carl Hubbard, Mathiston, MS, her sister; Elizabeth "Cricket" King, Inverness, MS and her brother; Rev. Warren (Doris Ann) Wasson, Nokomis, FL, nineteen grandchildren and thirty one great grandchildren. Mary Dell Wasson was born October 5, 1929 in Attala County, MS. She graduated from Mathiston High School and went on to attend Wood Junior College. It was there, she met the love of her life Doff Hubbard. On December 13, 1951, Doff and Mary Dell married and remained married and "in love" until his death on February 11, 2010. Mary Dell worked as a secretary at Futorian Manufacturing Co., Eupora Elementary School and Webster General Hospital. While secretary at Webster General, she realized the need for a social services department. Mary Dell found a love in social service work and fulfilled her passion as a board certified social worker. During her time as a social worker, she opened the Webster General Long Term Care Facility, where, she retired in 1996.Mary Dell also chose the Webster General LTC as her home for the last 2 years of her life. Mary Dell showed her love for service to others as a Pink Lady with the hospital auxiliary, as an officer for the UMW Association, and as the Eupora FUMC lay delegate to the Annual Conference. As a cancer survivor, she became very involved with the relay for life. Mary Dell also loved spending time with friends playing bridge, skipbo, dominoes and chicken scratch. The family requests memorials be made to the Eupora First United Methodist Church
