A wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, she was well loved by many. Mary Kathleen was born on January 26, 1928 in Bellefontaine, MS to Connie Mae and Larrus Lee Hughes, the only sister to her two older brothers. She grew up in Bellefontaine and attended school until she met her husband, Sim Stewart Clark of Duck Hill, MS, in 1945. It was love at first sight and they were married shortly after, spending 40 years together until his untimely death in 1985. During their marriage, she traveled with Sim to many different ports of call during his service in the Navy, until settling in Chicago with her daughter Judie, then adding Barbara and Kim to their family. The Clarks lived in Schneider, Indiana for many years then later moved to Memphis to be closer to family. Kathleen was an avid seamstress and worked for Hancock Fabrics until her retirement. She was also a wonderful cook and many family holidays and get-togethers were spent at “Gran Gran’s” house for food and fellowship. Kathleen is survived by her children Judie and Kim (Cissy); her grandchildren Andrea (Arty); Michael (April) and Amy (Alan); Emily (Robert) and Mary; her great-grandchildren Reagan, Kaitlyn, and Brady.
