Martha Alice Rogers

Martha Alice Rogers age 91, of Eupora, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center Long Term Care in Eupora, Mississippi. Martha was born on July 1, 1933, to John Thomas Thornburg and Clara Bell O'Bryant Thornburg in Theodore, Alabama. She was employed at Wells Lamont for thirty-eight and a half years. After retiring, she enjoyed cooking for others especially on the holidays. She was also a caregiver to three sweet ladies and also worked part time as a hostess assisting with families at Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora. Martha was a faithful and devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a faithful member at First Baptist Church in Eupora, Mississippi and led Bible Drills and served as the Nursery Director for many years in the Church. She was always in church on Sundays and Wednesdays and she instilled in all the children God's love for them and all of the children loved Ms. Martha. Martha always enjoyed helping others any way she could. Martha is survived by one son, Jimmy (Karina) Rogers, Fairfax, South Carolina; one daughter, Martha Jo Berryhill, Eupora, Mississippi; one sister, Sue (Doug) Sloane, Tacoma, Washington; three grandchildren, Allison Cole, Palm Valley, Texas, Billy Joe Cole, Eupora, Mississippi and Jimmy Wayne Rogers, Red Bay, Alabama; seven great grandchildren, Kobe Cole, Kenadee Magee, Augustus Thompson, Violet Thompson, Andre Fuentes, John Rogers and Jaclyn Rogers and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, William "Jim" Rogers; her parents, John Thomas and Clara Bell O'Bryant Thornburg; son, Kip Rogers; two grandchildren, Tara and Willie Rogers; son-in-law, Russell Berryhill; three sisters, Lillian Geter, Rose Davis and Margaret Griffin and two brothers, Johnny Thornburg and Bill Thornburg. Her family and friends will miss her dearly but her memory will be cherished forever in their hearts. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the staff of North Mississippi Medical Center Long Term Care in Eupora and Legacy Hospice for the excellent care that Martha received. Funeral Services for Ms. Martha will be held at 12Noon on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, Mississippi. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of visitation on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 10:00AM until time for services at 12Noon at Oliver Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Webster Memorial Gardens in Eupora, Mississippi. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Webster Memorial Gardens. Rev. Travis Gray will officiate the services. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Davis, Rodney Cooper, Charles Oliver, Jr., Raymond Hitt, Dr. Charles Ozborn and Randy McCool.
