Margaret W. Love Holland

January 16, 1923 — July 19, 2021

Graveside Services will be held 2:00PM Friday 7/23/21 at Sapa Cemetery in Webster County, MS. Mrs. Holland was born in Clinton, MS in 1923, the daughter of Margaret Lilley Williamson and William Douglas Williamson. She attended Wood Junior College in Mathiston, Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, and Mississippi State University. She received a masters degree in English from MSU and worked on campus several years in the Alumni Foundation. In 1944 she married Maloy Bryant Love of Eupora and they settled in San Antonio, Texas following his release from service in World War II. They had three daughters. Following his death in 1953, she returned to Mississippi and in 1962 married Wilbur Holland of Mathiston. Mrs. Holland taught English in Belzoni High School, Maben High School, and Mathiston High School. She was honored numerous times as Star Teacher and was very active in the National Education Association, Maben United Methodist Church, and the Wood College Foundation. She will be fondly remembered by many students, all of whom she loved dearly. She leaves three daughters to cherish her memory: Lilley (Forrest, deceased), of Orlando, FL; Melinda (Rickey) Young of Eupora; and Becky (Sam) Wilkes of Mathiston. She is also survived by several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Memorials can be made to Maben United Methodist Church, P.O.
