Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Monday 2/20/23 at Eupora First Baptist Church with burial in Webster Memorial Garden Cemetery in Webster County, MS. The Graveside/Committal Service will be held at Eupora First Baptist Church instead of Webster Memorial Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:30PM until 2:00PM Monday 2/20/23 at Eupora First Baptist Church. Loye Washington Stephens passed away at home with family on February 17, 2023. Funeral Services were held 2:00PM Monday February 20, 2023 at Eupora First Baptist Church with burial in Webster Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Travis Gray and Dr. John Herring officiated. Pallbearers were; Tom Childs, J. D. Robertson, Billy Lamb, Chad Ray, Ken Ray, Rob Ray, Bobby Davis, Austin Call and Charlie Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents; Walter Eliga and Mamie Lee Burton Stephens, three sisters; Dorothy (Wister) Ray, Mozelle (Shelton) Prewitt, Corinne (Ed) Williams and two brothers; Billy Joe Stephens and Curtis (Lois) Stephens. He is survived by his wife; Amanda Oliver "Amy" Stephens, Eupora, MS, two daughters; Stephanie Stephens (Herman) Carroll, Natchez, MS, and Suzanne Stephens Bird, Eupora, MS, two grandchildren; Collin (Eva) Carroll and Kade Bird, and two great grandchildren; Cassius and Caia Carroll and a brother in law; Charles W. (Becky) Oliver, Jr., Eupora, MS. Loye grew up in a hard working, loving family in Choctaw County Mississippi. He loved his 2 brothers and 3 sisters, and spent a lot of time with them. After completing grade school, Loye attended Holmes Jr. College and Delta state university graduating from both. During his time in college, he formed bonds with friends that became lifelong buddies. Loye spent 35 plus years employed at Garan, Inc where he was the office and shipping manager. Loye loved selling used cars as a hobby and owned Eupora Auto Sales for years. He also loved riding around with his bride checking all the local restaurants. Loye met and married the love of his life Amy in 1967. He and Amy had 2 girls, Stephanie and Suzanne. Loye loved his family fiercely and was the best husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Loye and Amy would have been married 56 years this year. Loye was very proud of his family especially his two grandsons, Collin and Kade. He would stop and talk to anyone about how proud he was of Collin’s athletic accomplishments, the ball game scores, or any other topic. He was so proud of Kade and prided himself in his grades and other accomplishments. Loye was a one of a kind, amazing man that will be missed greatly each day.
