Lonnie William Potts, 76, gained his heavenly wings at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, MS on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Lonnie was born to William Thomas Potts and Lucille Allen Potts in Detroit, MI on September 15, 1947. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, MS with burial in Spring Valley Cemetery in Mathiston, MS. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Spring Valley Cemetery. Rev. Willy Weddle will officiate. Visitation will be 12Noon until service time at 2:00PM at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora, MS on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Lonnie was a devoted family man that loved his wife, kids and grandkids with all his heart. He was an avid outdoorsman always enjoying hunting, fishing and woodworking. Lonnie started a family and career in Michigan. His career later took him on a journey to Arizona, California and then finally to Mississippi where he retired from Plymouth Tube Co. in Eupora as a General Manager for the company. He was a member of Mathiston First Baptist Church in Mathiston, MS and also served in the United States Army in Vietnam. Lonnie lived by the motto: "The right thing, for the right reason, in the right way and putting God first, family second and work third." He has surely left all his family and friends with a lifetime of memories. Mr. Lonnie is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years; Sharon Helm Potts of Eupora, MS, one daughter; Holly (Scott) Pugsley of Mathiston, MS, one son; Chad (Colleen) Potts of Avon, IN, one brother; Larry Williams of Shelby Township, MI and five grandchildren; Caleb Potts, Cole Potts, Justin Potts, Danica Potts and Jesse Pugsley. He was preceded in death by his parents; William Thomas and Lucille Allen Potts.
