Lil Webb Sulyma

April 8, 1935 — August 20, 2023

Lil Webb Sulyma, 88, of Eupora, Mississippi, passed away on August 19, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents Curtis Edward Webb and Mayfred Polk Webb of Walthall; her sister Ruth Beadle of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; and brothers Paul Edward Webb of Walthall and Curtis Wayne Webb of Grenada. Survivors include her son Barry Bryant and son-in-law John McLendon of Rancho Mirage, California; sisters Luenette Thornburg of Duck Hill, Frances Mitchell (husband Hardy) of Kosciusko, and Donna Gladney (husband Tommy) of Eupora; along with many nieces and nephews. Lil was previously married to A. B. Bryant, Thomas Earl Lankford, and Peter Sulyma. Lil was born Lillie Bell Webb in 1935 in Fame, Mississippi. She would often reminisce about milking cows and picking cotton while growing up on the family farm, swimming in nearby Savannah Lake, and being a star basketball player at Cumberland High School. After graduating, she attended Business College in Jackson and began a career in banking that would span over 50 years. She worked for American National Bank (later AmSouth) in Birmingham and Huntsville, Alabama and was one of the first women to become a Bank Vice President in Alabama. After retiring, she moved back home to Eupora, where she continued her banking career at Regions Bank for several years. Lil adored her son Barry, enjoyed antiquing trips with her sister Donna, and visiting with her other sisters and family. Those near to her will remember her sweet personality, faithful friendship, intense fear of storms, and generosity beyond her means. Memorial services to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation are encouraged. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora was in charge of all arrangements.
