Lauren Claire Stewart

Lauren Claire Stewart, 61 years old, went to her heavenly home on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Regional One Health Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, TN. Lauren was born in McComb, MS on October 31, 1963, to Dr. William S. Stewart, Sr. and Bettye Hand Stewart. She was a graduate of Eupora High School in Eupora, MS and University of Mississippi “Ole Miss” in Oxford, MS. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater, a passion that Lauren had from an early age. At Ole Miss Lauren was a member of Concert Singers and multiple productions. After graduation, Lauren moved to Atlanta, GA to attend Paralegal School. In Atlanta, she continued her love of acting and choreography and was an actor in the “Passion Play” at First Baptist Church Atlanta while living there. Lauren was employed at Hatfield Phillips and Suntrust Bank as securities analyst in Atlanta, GA and traveled extensively with her job. She moved back to Eupora in early 2000 to help care for her family. In April of 2018, Lauren began serving as Church Secretary at First Baptist Church in Eupora, MS where she was a member for 54 years until her passing. Lauren had a deep love for her Lord, family, friends and community. She was also very involved in local theater productions serving as Director along with her life-long friend, Jacqueline Meek. Above all accomplishments that Lauren made in life, her favorite job was being an aunt to Rett, Stewart, Claire, Sproles, Brody, Rinnah and Birdie. Lauren is survived by one sister, Leah (Hugh) Bland, Eupora, MS; one brother, Bill (Stephanie) Stewart, Jr., Eupora, MS; two nieces, Lauren Claire Bland and Rinnah Joy Stewart and two nephews, William Sproles Stewart III and Brody Henderson Stewart. Lauren also acted as a loving aunt to Birdie Elisabeth Hawkins. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Dr. William S. and Bettye Hand Stewart and two nephews, Hugh Everette “Rett” Bland and Stewart Bland. Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Lauren Claire Stewart will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, February 15, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Eupora, MS. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of visitation on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora, MS from 5:00PM until 8:00PM. Lauren's body will also lie in state from 1:00PM until time for services at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Eupora, MS. Interment will follow at Eupora City Cemetery. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Eupora instead of Eupora City Cemetery. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is entrusted with all arrangements for the Stewart family.
