Joyce Frances Childress

Joyce Frances Shaw Childress age 83 of Stewart, MS, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Joyce was born in Webster County, MS on February 10, 1941, to James Walter Shaw and Romie Holloway Shaw. She was a homemaker and attended New Haven Baptist Church in Choctaw County, MS. Mrs. Childress is survived by two sons, Barney (Robin) Childress, Mobile, AL and Greg Childress, Stewart, MS; one sister, Olene Edwards, Houston, TX and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Barney L. Childress; both parents, James Walter and Romie Holloway Shaw; one daughter, Sheila Dossett; one granddaughter, Elizabeth and one great granddaughter, Mercy. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Freewill Cemetery in Stewart, MS. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora, MS from 12Noon until 1:30PM. Interment will follow at Freewill Cemetery in Stewart, MS. Rev. Derek May will officiate. Pallbearers will be Johnathon Ricardo, Richard Ricardo, Barney Childress, Robert Dossett, Joe Childress and Caleb Childress. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is entrusted with all arrangements and is honored to serve the Childress family.
