Joseph Erwin "Joe" Edwards

Joseph Erwin "Joe" Edwards age 70 of Eupora, MS, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at his residence. Joe was born on July 8, 1954, in Eupora, MS to Edward Erwin Edwards and Madeline Shaw Edwards. He graduated from Eupora High School and was a cross-country truck driver for 40 plus years. Joe loved to hunt and fish and was a member of New Haven Baptist Church in Choctaw County, MS and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Eupora, MS #261 and Louisville, MS #60  and a Mason with Masonic Lodge #423 in Eupora, MS. He served as past Patron of the Eupora Order of Eastern Star, past Master of Lodge of the Eupora Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. Mr. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Gail Edwards, Eupora, MS; two daughters, Lynn Jerome, Starkville, MS and Lisa (Donald) Carmichael, Starkville, MS; three brothers, James E. "Jimmy" Edwards, Columbus, MS, Jerry Edwards, Eupora, MS and Jack Edwards, Eupora, MS; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and a best friend, Mike Mormon, Duluth, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Erwin and Madeline Shaw Edwards; two sisters, Joyce Edwards and Infant Lera Ann Edwards and two sister-in-laws, Sarah Edwards and Janet Edwards. Funeral Services with Masonic Rites will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, MS. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of Visitation from 12Noon until time for services at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Oliver Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Edward Springs Cemetery in Webster County, MS. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel instead of Edward Springs Cemetery. Rev. Derek May will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Brandon Carmichael, Dustin Carmichael, Matt Jacobs, Eric Edwards, Bo Edwards and George Gregg. Honorary Pallbearers are Ike Cooper, Jerry Tindall, Mike Morman, Randy Fales, David Morelan and David Edwards. The family requests that all memorials be made to Edward Springs Cemetery Fund or Shriners Hospitals for Children. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is entrusted with all arrangements for the Edwards family.
