Jim Allen Sheffield, Sr.

We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father, Jim Allen Sheffield, Sr. Jim passed away at the age of 86 at Westwood Nursing Center in Statesboro, GA on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. He was born October 2, 1937 in Choctaw County, MS to Robert J. Sheffield and Allie Mae Walker Sheffield. Jim was self-employed in the beauty industry and had the love for his beagles, hunting, fishing and his nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Guy Sheffield and leaves behind a wife of sixty-seven years, Penelope Sheffield, two daughters; Kathie and Alice Sheffield and one son; Jim Sheffield, Jr. all of the Savannah-Statesboro, GA area. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 10:00AM at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Choctaw County, MS. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Choctaw County, MS alongside his mother and father. Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home of Statesboro, GA and Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora, MS are in charge of all arrangements.
