Imogene Marsh

November 18, 1941 — June 7, 2022

Mrs. Imogene Marsh, 80, died 6/7/22 at West Point Community Living Center in West Point, MS. Funeral Services were held 1:00PM Saturday 6/11/22 at Tri County Baptist Church in Stewart, MS with burial in Crape Creek Cemetery in Choctaw County. Bro. Max Blackwelder and Bro. Lane Thompson officiated. Pallbearers were; Michael Smith, Derek Carpenter, Toby Britt, Josh Horner, Michael Noah, and D.J. Carpenter. Honorary Pallbearers were; Joey Guidrey, Jason Barnhill and Kaleb Smith. In the earliest years of her work life Gene worked as a waitress, but it didn't take long to realize that working in a business was not enough. She became a "Business Woman", owning her own businesses that included a clothing store, a crafts and gift shop and later a restaurant. She was most happy as a Florist, owning "Gene's Flower and Craft Shop" in Grenada, MS for over 20 years. Gene was a member of Tri County Baptist Church in Stewart and was the designated "Wrangler". There was no such thing as an unruly child. "Give them to me" Gene would say, and Church would continue. Preceding her in death were her parents; Howard and Lillie Thompson, her loving husband and partner; Floyd N. Marsh, two grandsons; Jesse and Joshua White, three brothers; James, Odell and Benny Thompson and three sisters; Dorothy Hartaway, Nettie Ruth Wright and Bonnie Morelan. Mrs. Gene is survived by two daughters; Tina (Luther) Noah, Maben, MS and Sue (Larry) White, Eupora, MS, one sister; Shirley Ann Hutton, San Antonio, TX, five brothers; Joe Thompson, Joel Thompson and Ricky Thompson all of Stewart, MS, Jimmy Dale Thompson, Eupora, MS and Clifford "Punchy" Thompson of Arkansas, four grandchildren; Brandy Guidry, Tyler White, Emilie White Barnhill, and Riley White, four great grandchildren; Zack Guidry, Cheyenne Guidry, Jaxson and Jesse Barnhill and a host of nieces and nephews.
