Howard Eugene "Gene" McMillian

Howard Eugene “Gene” McMillian age 70 of Maben, MS passed away surrounded by his family on August 28, 2024. Gene was born in Cleveland, MS on August 18, 1954 to the late Howard Powell and Catherine Clemons McMillian. He is survived by Ann, his wife of forty-seven years; his three daughters; Cindy (Justin) Robertson of DeKalb, MS, Amanda (Michael) Gilliland of Eupora, MS, and Heather Harmon of Houston, MS, his six grandsons; Clint (Brianna) Quinn, Dillon Quinn, John-Powell and Jace Gilliland, Sage Pritchard and Wyatt Hughes and two great granddaughters; Scarlett and Remi Quinn. Gene also leaves behind five brothers; Glen Rogers, Alan McMillian, Wayne McMillian, David McMillian and Lee McMillian, two sisters; Donna Ginn and Janet Fischer, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; Howard Powell and Catherine Clemons McMillian and three brothers; Doug, Robert “Red” and Mike McMillian. Gene retired after twenty years at Gulf States in Starkville, MS and then retired from delivering propane after twenty years. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved nature, hunting, fishing and spending time with family. Our daddy was a very hard worker. He was an honest man, a good man, a great daddy, grandfather and great grandfather. Gene was selfless and never met a stranger. He was so kind and gentle with a big heart. Gene will be missed by everyone that knew him. Funeral Services for Gene will be at 4:00PM Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, MS. Interment will follow at Clear Springs Cemetery in Oktibbeha County, MS. A time of visitation for friends will be Friday, August 30, 2024, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Oliver Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Woods and Rev. Mike Ramage will officiate. Pallbearers will be Josh Edwards, Michael Gilliland, Hunter Johnson, Scott McBride, Justin Pritchard and Justin Robertson. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
