Graveside Services will be at 12Noon Friday, August 26, 2022 at Epperson Presbyterian Cemetery in Coker Creek, TN. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 23, 2022 6:00PM-8:00PM at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora, MS and Friday, August 26, 2022 at Brierely-Hale Funeral Home Tellico Plains, TN Location at 10:00AM until 11:00AM. Burial will be at Epperson Presbyterian Cemetery located in Coker Creek, TN. Flora Jeanette McDonald Hollenhead, 84, of Mathiston, MS passed away on Friday, August 19th, 2022 at NMMC Long Term Care Center in Eupora, MS. Flora Jeanette McDonald Hollenhead was born to George Henry McDonald and Evelyn Wallace Elliott of Hazel Park, MI on October 24th, 1937. After Jeanette graduated from Mansfield High School in 1956 she worked at Tappan Appliance in Mansfield, OH as a secretary. Following her time at Tappan she moved to Brooksville, FL at the age of 21 where she performed as a mermaid at Weeki Wachee Springs Park from 1958-1960. During that time she met the love of her life Samuel Hollenhead. They were blessed with a large and loving family. Jeanette and Samuel went on to have three children, Jeffery Allen Hollenhead, Steven Allen Hollenhead, and Scott Glasgow Hollenhead. Jeanette surrendered her life to the Lord April of 1962 and was baptized at the Presbyterian Church in Williston, FL. Jeanette enjoyed traveling, playing board/card games, decorating her snow village at Christmas and spending time with her family. She always either had a camera or video recorder in hand. She loved playing her favorite games Yahtzee, Skip-Bo, Uno and Candyland with her grandchildren. Christmas time at her house was magical with all her snow village. She had tables lined around her house filled with beautiful snow villages. She even hosted field trips from a local school. Jeanette is survived by her sons Jeffery Allen Hollenhead (Mary) of Mission, TX; Steven Allen Hollenhead of Mathiston, MS; Scott Glasgow Hollenhead (Tonya) of Mathiston, MS; grandchildren Hope Hollenhead, Glen Hollenhead, Paisley Hart (Will), Swayze Hollenhead, Caitlin Burton (Conner), Mamie Hollenhead, McKinley Hollenhead, Griffin Mims (Joseph), and Matalin Hollenhead; great grandchildren Spencer Lee and Maxwell Hart, Adam and Cayson Hollenhead, Adaline Burton, Melaina Mims and Rowdy Sullivan; and her brother Gary “Skip” McDonald. She is preceded in death by her parents George Henry McDonald and Evelyn Wallace Elliott; her brothers Robert McDonald, William “Bill” McDonald, and George “Don” McDonald; and her sister Mary McDonald. We would like to thank Dr. Charles Ozborn and everyone at NMMC Long Term Care Center in Eupora, MS for taking such great care of our mother and grandmother for the last several years!
