Emmitt Jefferson Andrews, Jr. was born on November 5, 1944 in Choctaw County, Mississippi. He WALKED into the arms of Jesus on April 22, 2023 at North MS Medical Center in Eupora, MS. Junior never met a stranger and loved with everything in him. He met the love of his life and married her in 1965 and they soon welcomed a bouncing baby boy. Junior provided for his family by logging and working at the steel mill. In 1989, he and his wife had a wreck that left him paralyzed and at that time he found God. He relearned to walk and by sharing his testimony he was an inspiration to so many people and led many to finding God. For the remainder of his life, he continued to inspire everyone he met. Even with all his tribulations, he continued to find comfort in God. Junior loved being outside and continued mowing and gardening until he physically couldn't do it anymore. He will always be remembered by his family and friends as a kind, beautiful God loving soul. He will continue to be an inspiration for everyone that knew him. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Lorene J. Andrews of Mathiston, MS, son, Jeffery (Lisa) Andrews of Mathiston, MS, granddaughter, Michelle (Bill) Mason of Eupora, MS, two grandsons, Derrick (Miranda) Andrews of Mathiston, MS, and Money Andrews of Memphis TN, great granddaughter, Adalyn Ruth Mason, step grandson, Ben (Alissa) Brown, step great granddaughter, Ada Claire Brown, of Grenada, MS, step granddaughter Amber Brown, and step great grandson, Brantley Jackson, both from Mathiston, MS, sisters, Bonnie Latham and Norvelle Weeks both of Eupora, MS. The family will be having a private service at a later date. The family would like to extend their most heartfelt appreciation to the entire NMMC nursing home staff. He loved each and every one of you and we want to thank you for loving him back. We would also like to thank North MS Hospice and all of the hospital staff for providing comfort and helping make his transition a peaceful one. And last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank Dr. Moffett and Dr. Ozborn for always being there and doctoring from the heart. May God Bless each of you abundantly.
