Vivian Elizabeth Morrow Cummings of Eupora, Mississippi February 14, 1937 - May 17, 2023 Elizabeth Cummings, 86, passed into glory on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Grenada Health and Rehabilitation Center in Grenada, MS, surrounded by her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Eupora, MS. She was born on February 14, 1937 to John Alex and Bessie Van Landingham Morrow in Grady, MS. She graduated from Eupora High School, Wood Junior College, and Mississippi State University. She taught Business Law and Business Communications at Mississippi Delta Community College in Moorhead, MS for almost 40 years, retiring in 2001. She is reunited in heaven with her husband of 60 years, Rev. Doyle Cummings. Together, they served faithfully as pastor and wife at Fellowship Baptist Church in Choctaw County; Philadelphia Baptist Church in Lincoln County; Schlater Baptist Church in Schlater, MS; Second Baptist Church Indianola, MS; First Baptist Church Itta Bena, MS; Director of Missions in Bolivar County; and many other churches as interim pastor. She enjoyed researching family genealogy and history. She discovered and had published the diary of her great grandfather, which detailed his life from 1847-1912. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rev. Doyle Cummings, her parents, John Alex and Bessie Morrow, and her siblings, Adelaide Morrow Payne, John Morrow Jr., Sam Morrow, Mildred Morrow, Ed Morrow, and Mary Eleanor Morrow Randall. Elizabeth is survived by her sons Andy Cummings and his wife Jan and David Cummings and his wife Betty, both of Grenada, MS, her grandchildren Cassie Matusiak (Dave) of Grenada, MS, Caleb Cummings (Meredith) of Mt. Juliet, TN, McKenzie Cummings and Matt Cummings of Grenada, MS, great grandchildren Hadley Cummings and Levi Cummings of Mt. Juliet, TN, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held 11:00 am Monday, 5/22/2023 at First Baptist Church in Eupora, MS with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery in Grady, MS. Rev. Travis Gray and Rev. Caleb Cummings officiated the services. Pallbearers were’ Dave Matusiak, Robert Youngblood, Evan Alderman, Cade Morrow, Wayne Alldridge and Mark Davis.
