Jean our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt, passed from this earth on August 23, 2024, at her residence in Eupora, MS at the age of 95. Jean is preceded by her parents, three brothers and four sisters, her first husband of 47 years, Theron D. (Chubby) Nash, her second husband of 17 years, Gene S. Hunter and her youngest daughter, Judy L. Wilker. She is survived by her oldest daughter, Sandra N. (Don) Friedsam of Coldspring, TX, her son, Dr. Jerry D. (Lori) Nash of Fort Collins, CO and her son-in-law, Jerry Wilker of Mathiston, MS. "Mamaw's" grandchildren include Sean R. (Misty) Friedsam of New Braunfels, TX, Amanda L. (Stephen) Edwards of Mathiston, MS and Danielle R. (Stan) Kahler of Avon, IN. Great grandchildren include Jacob, Kaitlin and Linley Edwards of Mathiston, MS, Natalie and Nathan Kahler, Rose McBride of Avon, IN and Haven and Brooklyn Friedsam of New Braunfels, TX. She also had numerous nieces, nephews, family members and close friends in several states. Born on November 18, 1928 in Mantee, MS, she was the sixth child of eight. She worked for the telephone company in Jackson, MS, then Sears Roebuck, Retail Credit (later Equifax), Marcus Jones Buick and Hillcroft Medical Clinic all in Houston, TX. Mother was a strong, devout Christian, very opinionated in a meaningful way and cared deeply for her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mrs. Jean will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Eupora, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 10:00AM until time for services at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church in Eupora. Rev. Travis Gray will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jerry Nash, Sean Friedsam, Jacob Edwards, Stephen Edwards, Nathan Kahler and Stan Kahler. Honorary Pallbearers are Don Friedsam and Jerry Wilker. Interment will take place later at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, Houston, TX next to her first husband, Theron D. (Chubby) Nash. Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is in charge of all arrangements.
