You may go online and sign our guest register or leave a message of condolence for the family at www.ofheupora.com Reverend Christopher Michael Fulgham, 59, of Maben, Mississippi, passed away peacefully in his home on April 12th after his brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on June 21st, 1963 to Joe Fulgham Jr. and Ruth Rowley in Bangor, Maine. Chris graduated near the top of his class from John Jay High School in San Antonio, Texas, in 1981. He went on to study computer programming and worked in that field for many years, eventually becoming the IT Manager at Ivey Mechanical. He helped raise his three stepchildren, Sherry, Chad, and Bryan McGill from his first marriage to Shirley McGill. On March 19th, 1999, he married Stefanie Fulgham, embracing her and her two daughters, Morgan and Jennifer. In 2003, Chris felt a calling to serve the Lord, and entered seminary training at New Orleans Baptist Seminary. He eventually served as Pastor at Fentress Baptist Church in Ackerman, Mississippi. He occasionally pastored services at Double Springs Baptist Church in Maben, Mississippi, which became his church of record. He handled all of the audio/video and IT needs for Double Springs until the time of his passing. Chris was an avid fan of science fiction in general, but especially anything to do with Star Trek. He loved music and was very skilled with his twelve-string guitar, and he was also an accomplished chess player. Most notably, he had a quick-witted, never-ending sense of humor. His favorite response to anyone asking him “Do you have any questions?” was to say, “Yes, what is the critical density of the universe?”. Of course, he already knew the answer to that question. He was funny, smart, and a pleasure to be around. Chris is survived in death by his wife Stefanie Fulgham, her children Morgan and Jennifer, and his stepchildren Sherry, Chad, and Bryan from his previous marriage. He is also survived by his stepfather Jeff Rowley, and siblings Joseph Fulgham III, Kathey Sheppard, Daniel Roth, and Deborah Roth. Last, but not least, Chris is survived by his lifelong best friend, Ennis Howard. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe Fulgham Jr. and Ruth Rowley, and siblings William Roth, Kenneth Roth, and Kenneth Fulgham. Chris was a mentor, friend, and brother to all who knew him, and he will be sorely missed. Chris wished to be cremated. There will be a memorial service held at Double Springs Baptist Church on April 29th, at 2pm. Flowers or donations, if desired, may be made to Double Springs Baptist Church
