Charles Hugh O'Neal

Charles Hugh O'Neal age 87, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Brooklyn Hall Personal Care Home in Mathiston, MS. Charles was born on September 11, 1936 to Charles William and Sarah Mayreen Blalack O'Neal in Webster County, MS. Charles was a long-time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he faithfully served as Music Director for many years. After marrying his sweetheart, Sue Ray O'Neal they made their home together in the Mt. Zion Community of Eupora, MS. He worked for many years as Parts Manager for the Ford Dealership in Eupora and Mathiston, MS and later worked for North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, MS as Purchasing Clerk until his retirement. Charles enjoyed gardening on his John Deere tractor, mowing his lawn and gospel music. Charles is survived by two sisters; Joy Hendricks, Eupora, MS and Geneve O'Neal Lindsey, Raymond, MS and host of nieces and nephews all of whom he loved. He is preceded in death by his parents; Charles William and Sarah Mayreen Blalack O'Neal, his loving wife; Sue Ray O'Neal, one sister; Mertie Mae O'Neal and one brother; Loy O'Neal. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, MS. Visitation for friends will be from 12Noon until time for services at 2:00PM on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Oliver Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Eupora, MS. The Graveside Committal Services will be held at Oliver Funeral Home instead of Mt. Zion Cemetery. Rev. Willy Weddle will officiate.
