Calvin Coolidge Crimm, 94, passed away at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi, on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He was the son of the late James Early and Willie Scott Peebles Crimm. He was married to Joyce Crimm for sixty-two years. Their marriage was a living testimony of dedication, trust, and loyalty. She helped him as he faced two cancer battles. Surviving both, he appreciated his time with her even more. Calvin spent his life working and providing for his family in the early years at a sawmill he co-owned with his brother and then later enjoyed working for many, many years at sawmills in the Choctaw area and in Louisville. He enjoyed all the time he had with his family, telling stories of his service days and adventures and reminding them of the lessons he learned throughout his lifetime. It was special that he stayed in contact with the last two classmates who went to school with him at a rural schoolhouse in Choctaw County. He even loved some travels away from home, especially hunting trips to Colorado, most recently as a 91-year-old. He lived in a very special community of loving and supportive friends and neighbors. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lee Rodgers Crimm of Eupora, Mississippi; two sons, Scotty (Samantha) Crimm and Tony (Rebecca) Crimm, all of Eupora, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Chad (Katie) Crimm, Mallory Crimm, Tyler (Brianna) Crimm, Garrett Crimm, and Jacob Crimm; a great granddaughter Sarah Kathryn Crimm; and a great grandson Jaxon Crimm. He was preceded in death by his parents Early and Willie Crimm, his son Calvin C. Crimm, Jr., his brothers J. E. Crimm, Thomas Crimm, and Cooper “Mutt” Crimm, and his sister Ardelia “Sis” Crimm. Services for Calvin Crimm were held Sunday, March 26, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, Mississippi. Visitation was prior to the funeral from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Burial followed at Providence Cemetery in Choctaw County, Mississippi. Officiating the services were Bro. Doug Wise and Bro. Coy Fulgham. LaDonna Caffey provided music. Pallbearers were Chad Crimm, Garrett Crimm, Jacob Crimm, Tyler Crimm, Terry Edwards, Trent Harrison, Bryce Johnson, and Jeff Pruitt.
