Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Friday 12/3/21 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Old Cumberland Cemetery in Webster County, MS. Visitation will be 5:00PM until 8:00PM Thursday 12/2/21 at Oliver Funeral Home. Brother Charles Everett "Buddy" Pepper, Jr., died 11/28/21 at his residence in Mantee, MS. Funeral Services were held 2:00PM Friday 12/3/21 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Old Cumberland Cemetery in Webster County. David Gore, Doug Wilson and Bro. Brad Winfield officiated. Pallbearers were; Kerry Henley, Erb Henley, Shawn Cooper, Tim Roberson, Evan Chandler and Bailey Chandler. Honorary Pallbearers were; Dixie Walker, Jim Henley, Galen Newland, Travis Wright, Ryan Avent, and Richard Palmer. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents; Charles Everett and Mary Sue Kolb Pepper and his first wife; Jimmie McGee Pepper. Brother Buddy is survived by his wife; Debbie Latham Pepper, Mantee, MS, two daughters; Christie (Greg) Pepper Bodge, Stafford, VA, and Kelley Bowen (Chris) Chandler, Mantee, MS, one son; Michael (Hailey) Pepper, Vestavia, AL, one sister; Ruby Pepper (Robert) Olive, Cumming, GA, three brothers; Barry (Lorrie) Pepper, Tuscon, AZ, Ronnie "Hub" (DeDe) Pepper, Starkville, MS, Mark (Kim) Pepper, Mantee, MS and six grandchildren; Evan Chandler, Bailey Chandler, Mary Helen Chandler, Ava Pepper, Molly Pepper and Isaac Bodge. Buddy was a lifetime resident of Webster County. He taught 27 years at Cumberland/East Webster High School. He coached football at Cumberland High School and scouted in the early years of East Webster. He returned to his childhood church, Crossroads Baptist Church, where he pastored for 9 years. Buddy was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing softball. He was always willing to serve his community by caring for the elderly or others in need by hauling firewood, delivering groceries and medicine. He loved his big family gatherings with lots of great food, fellowship and as he did throughout his career at School and Churches, "HIS TIMELESS STORIES"! This true man of God will be greatly missed.
