Bobbie Jean Middleton Blaylock, age 87, passed away peacefully July 14, 2020. She was born December 12, 1932 in Webster County to Georgia and Dalton Middleton. She married her childhood friend and love,Thomas Upton Blaylock, in June of 1951 who preceded her in death in 2012. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jewel Peacock, and brothers Wayne Middleton, Travis Middleton, Keith Middleton, Kenneth Middleton, and granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Blaylock. She is survived by her two children Sandra Blaylock and Stan Blaylock (Lyn) and her grandchildren Brad Blaylock (Caroline), Parker Blaylock, and Greer Blaylock. Bobbie B, as she was affectionately called, loved her children and grandchildren. After years of supporting her children and grandchildren in various sporting activities, she became an avid sports fan. This competitive spirit was evident each Friday as she gathered with her dear friends to play Skip Bo. Although she may not have won many games, she would never turn down an opportunity to play. There are two other things Bobbie B would never turn down: extra mayonnaise and an afternoon ride around the town with her grandchildren. Oh how she cherished time with her family. She spent a majority of her working years at Garan Incorporated. She had an admirable work ethic which was displayed each morning as she woke up early to knead homemade biscuits for her family. This task, although lengthy, suited her servant heart. Her life was a living example of her favorite passage, Psalm 23. If you knew Bobbie Blaylock, you know how reserved she could be. She was one to sit and listen, most of which was in an effort to “soak it all in.” She was her boldest, most vocal self when reading or speaking the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In many ways she embodied this passage. When she walked through the valley of the shadow of death, she feared no evil. She knew the magnitude of care her heavenly Father would provide for her. We, her earthly treasures, find peace and comfort knowing our Bobbie B will dwell in the house of the Lord forevermore. A celebration of her life will be held at Eupora First Baptist Church on July 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM for immediate family and close friends. The family respectfully requests social distancing and wearing of masks. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Eupora (PO Box 268, Eupora, MS 39744) or Brooklyn Hall Personal Care Home (23283 Mississippi-15, Mathiston, MS 39752)
